You will ask us so many questions that you will become a KON KHMER.
The ginger and turmeric used in traditional dishes like the amok curry are amongst some of the healthiest ingredients that are very common in South East Asia. Some are even used as natural medecine. Do you know the noni fruit and its benefits too? There are so many of these ingredients available at local markets. Let's talk about some while visiting Phsar Leu, Phsar Nat, Phsar Thmey, Phsar Prahok or else, together in Battambang.
Known as the 'basket of Cambodia' Battambang has some of the most interesting fields to visit. Local people around the country always proudly tell you whenever goods are locally grown as they are are more likely to be grown organically or with less chemicals than abroad (especially from China, Vietnam or Thailand). The size and shape of these products can say a lot about how natural and healthy they are.
If there was one place locals would like to bring you to it would probably be along the river and 'O' creeks. Riversides are cooler, with more trees, and host some of the most interesting little farms (mushrooms, chilies, etc.).
Cambodia has some very interesting workshops which use natural materials (silk, rock, wood or rattan for example). We can visit one of these together and get to know more about Cambodian daily life, wages, knowledge, requirements and so on.
A tour abroad is not complete without a nice break at a local house. We will arrive at our family home for a drink. You might want to ask more about Cambodian culture and chat more with us. It is also a perfect time to ask what else can be visited or where to eat in Cambodia...and we would love to share our knowledge and love of Cambodia this with you!
